These silver X stud earrings are made from overlapping bars of textured round wire, forming a slightly off-centre cross. The wires don’t lie completely flat - the overlap gives a touch of lift and dimension. Each bar is finished with a rough hammered texture, polished to a soft sheen.
 
The X shape is recognisable but open - not too exact, not too symbolic. You might see a cross, a mark, a kiss, a letter, or just an abstract form that feels satisfying to wear.
 
The texture catches light without being flashy. These stud earrings feel clean and minimal, but not plain. They’re pared back, but not blank.
 
This design is part of a small group of X earrings I make. There's a version on a fixed hook for a longer drop, and a sheet silver variation that plays with sharp contrast between polished and hammered textures. All are handmade in my Scottish studio using traditional techniques and recycled sterling silver.
